Books + Books
Want to talk books? You’re in the right spot. I’m a voracious reader of all sorts of books - fiction and non-fiction alike. I love to talk about books and connect with others who enjoy cuddling up with a good book as much as I do.
Want to know what I’ve been reading lately? Dive in here!
library nerd
I am a total library nerd who always prefers the hardback library copy over paperback, and I don’t do ebooks. I’m Team “Physical Book” all the way (though if ebooks are your jam, I love that for you). I’ve checked out so many books from my local library that it prompted the Executive Director to ask me to join the Board of Trustees. I said yes to the dress request! (Here’s the backstory on that.)
As an advocate for libraries, I love to share ideas about how to use your local library because Libraries Are More Than Books. And here are some tips to avoid those pesky library late fees and fines.
reading lately
Want to connect about books? You can follow me on Storygraph if you want to know what I’m reading now and what’s on my TBR list. (I am not a fan of Amazon, so you won’t find me on Goodreads and I don’t use Audible. If I need to buy a book that I can’t get from the library, it’s Bookshop.org for physical books and Libro.fm for audiobooks every time.)
I periodically share reviews of books, some about climate matters and others not. If you have a book recommendation or just want to chat about great books, send me a message to nerd out on reading.
book club
I’ve contemplated for years starting a book club, and maybe one day that will come to fruition. Would you join it? What would you want to see from a book club that doesn’t already exist?
In the meantime, I’ve curated some book lists over the years that make for good climate book club options. You can check out this one from 2020, this one from 2022, and any of these book lists I’ve curated over the years.
favorite books
You can also check out my Bookshop Bookshelf where I curate a list of books I enjoyed and appreciated, some related to climate matters and some I loved for other reasons.
That’s all I’ve got for now. See you in the stacks.
