RBT + TBR #2 (+Book Giveaway)
on loving libraries + EV road trips + a long journey for a little lacrosse toy 🤔 + weekly reading update and recs
This is the weekly RBT + TBR: Roses, Buds, and Thorns + a few things to consider for your To-Be-Read list. I share:
my Roses, Buds, and Thorns for the week
books I’ve finished recently with ⭐ ratings
books I’m currently reading
articles I’ve read that stand out as spectacular
and a few podcasts I love (listening is just as good as reading)
At the end, I have a book giveaway each week (for paid subscribers). If you're interested, subscribe and scroll to the end!
Roses
Peonies and lilacs are popping up in our yard this week. It’s been pretty rainy, so they haven’t fully come into bloom. I think next week they’ll peak. But for now, I’m enjoying all the colors. 🌸
A group of community members organized a food drive for our local food pantry. The organizers are all part of our local Democrat group, but we spread the word and appreciated that people participated regardless of political affiliation. Helping neighbors shouldn’t be political. 🫶🏼
I’m writing this from a public library in a Boston suburb between my son’s hockey games. I didn’t want to sit in our hotel room (and the internet there was terrible anyway), so we took advantage of the one “third space” still free in many areas. It was just a mile from our hotel and so much more comfortable! Shout out to all the libraries. Do what you can to support your local library. It’s great to have, even if you don’t always use it!
